MOUND WESTONKA HIGH SCHOOL GIRLS HOCKEY PLAYERS SYDNEY LEONARD, EMILY WENDORF AND MONTANA COURNEYA HAVE EARNED STATEWIDE AWARDS. ASSISTANT COACH JIM KURTZ WAS ALSO NAMED CLASS A ASSISTANT COACH OF THE YEAR.

THE MOUND WESTONKA/SOUTHWEST CHRISTIAN GIRLS HOCKEY TEAM WON TWO MORE GAMES LAST WEEK TO IMPROVE THEIR RECORD TO 14-4 ON THE SEASON.


Mound girls hockey team members honored (March 7, 2022)

Congratulations to Mound-Westonka/Southwest Christian girl hockey players Sydney Leonard, Emily Wendorf, and Montana Courneya for being honored at the Ms. Hockey banquet. Leonard was selected to the Class A All-State team and Wendorf to the Class A Honorable Mention All-State team at the Ms. Hockey Banquet in Oakdale on Sunday, Feb. 27 Courneya was named the winner of the Minnesota Girls Hockey Coaches Association Executive Council Scholarship.


Westonka girls hockey players honored (April 11, 2022)

The Mound Westonka/Southwest Christian girls hockey team held its annual banquet at Lafayette Club recently and handed out awards. For the junior varsity team the following awards were presented: Most Improved Player was Campbell Schwob. Hardest worker award went to Ella Weltzin. The coaches award was presented to Sammy Krahl. Awards for the varsity were next. Most Improved Player went to sophomore Rachel Erickson. Rookie of the Year went to goalie Ashlyn Roth and eighth grader Georgia Harmer. Hard Hat (Hardest Worker) went to freshman Gisella Harder. Top Offensive player went to Sydney Leonard. Top Defensive Player went to Montana Courneya and Emily Wendorf. Team MVP went to junior Sydney Leonard.
