Pat Furlong named to Minnesota Hockey Coaches Association hall of fame

Furlong has coached in more than 1,000 hockey games in his coaching career that began in 1967. He spent 35 years coaching for the Mound School District, 25 years with the boys program and 10 with the girls program. The career in Mound included early morning travels to one of the few indoor hockey arenas, the excitement of the move to the Pond Arena in 1981, and beginning the girls program in Mound. During his tenure, his teams were able to claim 8 conference championships with the boys program and 2 with the girls program.
